Notes
1. “My interest as an artist was to create a new memorial encompassing all the Sunderland names, in order to commemorate them in the year 2000. This I achieved in an exhibition of the names in the foyer of Sunderland Library and Art Gallery, to coincide with the Remembrance period in November 2000. The work was displayed for three weeks, and provoked a great response from the public, many interested in friends and relatives they found” (Tony Redman).
